Happy Halloween!

I managed to finish this one just in time for the big day! haha Of course this layout took WAY to long to complete but I'm very happy with how it all come together in the end! I was actually quite impressed with myself that I did not use one single flower on this layout which is a double layout to boot! haha

I just loved all the fall/halloween decorations out and about during are trip to Disney World last month. Beautiful colours, festive and fun!

Disney Parade!

I had a few flowers and swirls left over from the MK layout and decided they would be a perfect fit for some parade pics! So with scraps in hand I picked these 4, yes only 4 shots that really make me smile!! I had taken so many pictues during the Celebrate a Dream come True Parade that is not even funny! Once again I used Sketch Savy Sketch #2 for this layout! Susan really does have the best sketchs!!

This was probably the most difficult layout I have ever done, having just lost my Mom back in May, it doesn't quite seem real yet. She was my best friend and I miss her more then I can express. When I first started this blog it was mainly for her, so she could see my work and whatnot. She'd always make a comment to me over the phone about my recent layouts, so mom wherever you are I hope you like this one.

I managed to finish this up last night just in the nick of time, as today is Dec 1st! Christmas has always been my favorite time of year...I'm so looking forward to all the xmas baking, last minute shopping (although I have finished all my shopping as of yesterday I am sure I'll buy 1 or 2 more!), snuggling up to watching all the old xmas shows/movies with my daughter, peppermint hot chocolate, and of course just sharing this season with family and friends!!

Now to drag out all the christmas stuff to decorate, I always wait till the 1st!

I'm still trying to decide which of these I detest more, I figured the best way to get back into scrapping is to throw myself right back in it, and not liking the outcome is just something I will have to deal with, but I'm scrapping again so that makes me smile!

My colour choices for these pics are all wrong, and later down the road I may just go back and do these all over again.

YES!! I finally did it! I sat down and actually scrapped a layout...such a proud moment! It has been weeks...ok I admit months since I've scrapped anything, but it feels good to finally be scrapping again!! So happy!!

I started out using sketch #25 from Sketch Savvy as my inspiration. I found myself working with colours I don't normally work with at all, so that was abit tricky in it self! All and all I think it turned out pretty darn cute!

Where did summer go? Hard to believe it's that time again...time to get the kids ready for back to school. With the end of summer comes my birthday...yep 29 and holding! haha Every once and awhile my hubby never ceases to amaze me, with my b-day just over a week away he comes home with this yesterday....
The fact that he went into a store and down the scrapbooking isle to boot, to pick this cute little thing up for me is totally SWEET! He told me he went looking for something that wasn't already sitting in my scraproom, found this and bought it. Said he wasn't sure what it does, or if I even wanted one but hoped I liked it! How could I not, he gets 2 thumbs up!!
I was holding out for the new Tim Holtz Vagabond machine, but this will do. There was a time when I wasn't even interested in these type of die cutting machines, but then I got the cricut and a whole new world opened up! haha Think I might head on down and pick a few dies today so I can play with my new cuttlebug!

Hoping with this new toy and having just returned home from are summer vacation, I can jump back into scrapping after being in such a slump in the creative department for so long.

Happy days ahead...

Crystal Palace

While in Disney World, we enjoyed a very yummy tasting breakfast at The Crystal Palace one morning and even got to meet a few friends!! Such a GREAT way to start are day off!!

I have been wanting to try to make one of these cupcakes for sometime now...so yesterday I collected all the materials and got down to it! Now I fully admit that while this is not a bad first attempt and I am pleased with it.... I need practice, or should I say there are a few things I will do differently on the next one!

Of course I have just realized that I didn't take a pic to show that the tag attached to the big red ball pulls out to write alittle sweet message on! (I'll try to add one later!)

This is one of many pics I took of the castle at the Magic Kingdom. On the day this was taken we were admitted into the park early for ADR (advance dining reservations) at Crystal Palace, where we enjoyed a tasty breakfast with Winnie the Pooh, Tigger and friends! Anyway getting into the park early is a great chance to get some pics of the castle and surrounding area without the crowds! Wish I was there right now...sigh.....only 10 months to go till my next visit!

Again, I'm addicted to making these flowers, I just love them!!

Scrapbooking....What is that?

It certainly feels like its been forever since I scrapped. Between everything that has been going on in my own little world scrapping was on the bottom of the list, and it didn't help matters that my mojo took a vacation and forgot to inform me!! But alas I am happy to report that my mojo has come back and is in full swing and I am back happly creating like mad!

I recently came across this blog Sketch Savvy by a very talented artist Susan Stringfellow, I simply adore all of her layouts, to help my mojo along I decided to use Sketch #13 for my Step Sisters layout, and I'm so happy with how it turned out!!

Something New!

I've been wanting to try something different creative wise for awhile now, and after stumbling across Donna Downey's blog a few months back I was totally inspired by all of her wonderful creative designs. So with some paints, stamps, butterfly punch, a canvas, and some computer journaling I got down to it!

Now that I've made one, I want to make more, gonna make a set of three to hang in my scrap room! Have a wonderful week!!

Here's a couple of layouts I got done for my never ending Disney World album! I have decided I may have to make a few simpler layouts if I never want to get this album done, because at this rate it will never be done! And with another trip booked to WDW next April, I'd like to get the first album done before starting a second! haha

It is very hard for me to say these layouts are done. To me they are very plain, I personally think they need more "junk" on them, let's see how long it takes me to go back and redo them!

Welcome 2010! I'm so ready, and I promise to actually keep the same promise I make to myself every year but somehow always manage not to keep and that is to USE UP MY STASH! It's over flowing and crazy, so yes this will be the year i use it all up, only of course to make room for more! haha

I've been alittle slow on blogging, but even with the holidays behind us I still wanted to post a pic of the sign I made to welcome guests as they stopped in to visit over the holidays!!

I made a template for all 3 different sized poinsettias, then spent some time cutting, glueing, distressing, inking, and crumbling to get just the right look I wanted!

I took a piece of cardboard, and using some white paint, white and glitter embossing powders created the backing for the flowers!! I was very happy with how it turned out!

All paper supplies used are KIKI ART!

I simply love Prima, and as soon as I saw this paper I knew it would be perfect for this picture of my little princess!! When we were at DisneyWorld we visited the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutuque, an experience my daughter truly loved! Who would't love to be made over into a princess!

I am so not crafty when it comes to needles and thread, but I gave it a try to make my own flower on this one....hey atleast I can say I tried! haha

A friend asked me if I would make a scrapbook for her recent trip back home as a gift for her parents, which I gladly said yes to! Finally this layout is done! I've had the idea for this layout floating around in my head for sometime now, just finding the time to sit and get it done was another thing!! This was alot of cut work as each petal for all flowers had to be drawn, cut, distressed, inked then layered and glued together. (I did get the idea for the flowers from the Aug/Sept issue of Scrapbooks etc.) I decided I would try and make a mini album hosting more pics using a protective sleeve cut and stitched to fit the photos/tickets...overall I'm pleased with how it turned out! TFL!!

What a month it has been! Been super busy with everything and then to top it all off my computer crashed, died, like no longer in the land of the living, which of course had me so frustrated I could have thrown the darn thing right out the window, I have a birthday coming up this summer so I think I will start dropping the hints now for a new computer! haha So until then I'm using hubbys!

So I've been having fun scrapping my Disney World pics, just the pictures themselves are inspiring to me, I simply love disney!! When I first started this album I though I would try and do it really clean and simple, I did one layout that way and realized I can't do clean and simple, I love texture, distressing, inking, and junking it all up so here are a few I've managed to get done over the last month....

Long Over Due!

It's been ages since I've upload anything, and to be honest I haven't really been scrapping lately....well all that is seriously about to change! For Easter my family and I along with some friends headed to Walt Disney World, let's just say I found my happy place! I have been a lover of Disney for as far back as I can remember, meeting Mickey is always a huge thrill for me! Watching my daughter have the time of her life, get excitied to see all the characters, having no fear of any of the rides, and just watching the smiles that came across her face was the most amazing part of the trip, I believe she is now a Disney lover just like her mom!

Lots of Disney layouts coming this way, as I took over 3000 pictures! YIKES! Camera happy or what!! And that's not including the video camera either! Anyway here is one I put together yesterday.....

We had actually taken a day to do some resort hopping, as there is over 20 different resorts there! My hubby really enjoyed this one on are tour that day!

The Mix it up challenge this week was a recycle challenge, so I played around with some corrugated cardboard on this one, and I quite like the results!

This is my Great Grandma, other wise known to the family as Maw. I'm not yet sure of the date is picture was taken around (hoping my mom can help me out on that one!) so I'll be adding that in later along with some hidden journaling on the back! TFL!!

Wow, it's been a month since my last post......sorry been kinda busy on the homefront end of things! But I'm back and with me come some new goodies!!

I bought this book, and I haven't really spent any amount of time going over it, just a quick flip through, but it looks interesting.....

And I FINALLY have in my hot little hands...this...

I love Elsie!!! I find her very inspiring, even though I find my style very different then hers, I always take lots of inspiration from her work!

And check out these new stamps I got, they are gelatins (Big & Wild Things)...they are to die for, I was giddy with excitiment paying for these babies!! haha

Can't wait to use them!!

Tim Holtz August Challenge!

After reading this post http://timholtz.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/08/page/2/ on Tim's blog I decided to to finally take the challenge and try it! I have always loved the distress look and if anyone can pull off that look it's Tim! I really surprized myself with how easy this look is to pull off, and FUN!! Of course after I tried one I couldn't stop myself and had to play around some more...

For this one a used one of those little glass blocks, then using the alcohol inks I dabbed it onto the glass block, after that dried I then took the swirl stamp stamped with black ink and stamped it on glass block ink side up, then taking a cloth I wiped the stamped image off and to everyone's surprize it goes clear! I then stuck it down to white card stock and there you have it!!! So FUN!!! For this next one I did the same thing only after finishing all the above steps I used my watermark stamp pad and covered it with clear embossing power, then using my TH texture hammer lightly hammered the glass block to make it crack! I really like this effect!

For this last one I used photo paper! It worked just as good but you do have to rub abit harder to get the stamped image off, then I inked the edges using TH distress inks!

Got a few more goodies done with the July Kit from Just Cre8, I think this is my fav kit so far, the prima papers in this kit are so beautiful, I love the colours! The stamps this month are so CUTE and FUN to, not to mention all the other stuff jammed packed into the kit!

I liked the design of my last layout called "beauiful" so much (see last post) that I created another using that same design...

I have been scrapping!! This makes me so HAPPY! With summer here, I am finding it harder to escape into my scrapbook room, as I am out and about trying to keep my daughter busy from going bored over the summer, but I did manage to find a few hours to play!

The 1+1 club

This layout will make no sense to anyone really who looks at it....it's to do with my uncle and I joking around one night about a secret club we belong to...hence the 1+1 club was born. It was a night full of laughs and I knew I had to scrap it right away so I wouldn't forget it!

My Unlce Roy is the quite the guy, he lives for today and worries about tomorrow, tomorrow. If he was down to his last 2 pennies and he knew you needed them, he wouldnt think twice about handed them over. He has a huge heart, and I truly belive that everyone could learn a lesson about life from this man. I love the times I have spent with him and my aunt, because we spend most of the time joking around and laughing......this one's for you Unlce Roy! Love ya!!

My Just Cre8 kit arrived the other day, I simply love the colours of the WRMK papers, so bright and FUN! I had a GC to use over at Just Cre8 as well and spent it on this......

So I bust it out of the package, getting all excitied and sit it down on my desk and think to myself " What the heck am I gonna use this for?" Seriously I don't even own 1 eyelet, let alone gromlets or snaps! and come to think of it I have NEVER used eyelets, I personally don't like them, but I'm thinking I may have to give one a try, just to test this big bite out. However I do like that it punches holes anywhere on my layouts now. Guess I'll have to play with it abit!

One of the LSS was having a closing out sale, I didn't go there very often, but decided to check out the sale anyway and managed to find a couple things. I picked up a 2 packs of Fancy Pants rub-ons, 2 packs Maya road rub-ons, some BG chipboard, Daisy D chipboard letters and flowers, a bunch of different coloured jems, 2 packs sugar coated brads, and bunch of Harley stuff all for under $ 40 bucks, so I didn't think that was to bad.

So frustrating, I have totally lost my mojo this past month, I've only completed about 3 layouts, and 1 of those shouldn't even be considered a layout cause it's so blah...YUCK! haha

However I did have quite the happy mail day yesterday, as my April Just Cre8 kit arrived stocked full of goodies, along with extra goodies I received from the online crop, so I'm hoping to crack that baby open and maybe that will get the old mojo moving again! And if that doesn't work I'm sure a trip to the LSS today will help (like i need more stuff! hahah)

And I leave you with a few layouts I got done last month or maybe it was 2 months ago now, I can't rememebr! (I'm slow at posting these I know)

I finished page 2 of my wieght loss album, I'm having so much FUN with this album, and totally loving the way it's turning out already. I traced and cut out the chandelier myself using my x-acto knife, it was alot of detailed cutting but I love the effect it has!

Scrapping for Me

I recently made the decision to step down from my DT position at the LSS, it was a decision that came very easy for me, with summer coming I know I will be busy with stuff around home and I basically felt it was just time. I have enjoyed my experiences being on a few DT's, and have met MANY wonderful, and very talented woman but it's time to get back to scrapbooking for me. It's nice to not have the pressure of a deadline, it's awesome being able to work with the papers and embellies that I choose myself, don't get me wrong being on a DT is awesome, who doesn't love receiving free stuff, but I feel this is my time to take a break, explore my style and basically just have some fun for me with this hobby that I love so much. Now that's not to say I will never try out for another DT again, becuase I know I will, I'm just taking a break that's all.

Went shopping today at Micheals, bought a new cricut cartridge (walk in my garden) and they had a bunch of MM stuff on clearence for $3 each, big surprize I loaded up! haha

I started a new album yesterday to record my weight loss journey, the picture was taken by my friend Anna, who takes the most amazing photos!! I totally jumped at the chance to have alittle photo session with her. Here is the title page...

This past weekend I attened a scrapbooking retreat, had loads of fun, laughed till we cried and kept on a laughing! It was so GREAT!! I actually got 3 layouts done and completed a baby album I have been working on, and wouldn't you know it I gave the baby book away before taking any pics of it! DUH!!!!

So I broke my ruler, went out to buy a new one and came home with this....

Tim Holtz design ruler, now all I can say is, if my ruler had not snapped in half I never would have bought it, but the ruler is pretty darn cool, I love the fact you can you can mark the centre of a 12x12 layout, if has a metal cutting edge, my last one didn't and let me tell ya my lines were starting to get alittle messed up! haha You can watch a demo video of this ruler over on Tim's site here : http://www.timholtz.com/vid_ruler.html

I recently got the new Basic Grey Sugered paper pack with all matching chipboard/brads etc.. This stuff looks pretty, but man do I ever find it hard to work with, I've done 2 layouts with it so far and hate the look of both of them, I think the colours are just to soft for me, and I don't normally work with pink tones, but it is pretty to look at! haha

And I'll leave you with a recent layout I did, which is very different from my normal style, lots of "white space"...Later!

I have done 20, yes 20 layouts this month, and on top of that I made 7 cards, 1 altered mini album, and 1 altered cigar box! I've never done that many layouts in a month before, I'm lucky if I even get 10, so I'm happy. Now not all 20 layouts are worth showing, there are a few that might get lost somewhere along the way, wait not might they will get lost! haha But I thought I would share just a few of my favorites....

And this is my first attempt at making a transparent ablum, and I actually like the way it turned out....

I am so happy to have used up some of my stash, hoping I can keep the mojo going and use up alot more of it! TFL!!!

I did this layout today......and had fun playing with Tim Holtz crackle paint, I so love watching it crackle and it looks so cool once it dries! I also used some netting that I have never used before on a layout but I am really happy with the effect it has, I can totally see myself playing with it some more and I found the tools in my stash that I have had forever so was happy to finally use them, overall I really love the look of this layout!

I was walking through Micheals the other day with a 40% off coupon in my pocket, nothing was really catching my eye, when I saw this book...Tantalizing Textures by Trudy Sigurdson, I have Trudy's first book Embellished Emotions and love it, so after quickly thumbing through it, I thought what the heck and headed off to the check out! I have so some many new ideas floating around in my head after reading it. I have read it THREE times already, and each time I read it I find something new, and more crazy new ideas! Who knew sand paper could be used in so many ways! I am totally happy with this book, and so glad I picked it up!

I'm behind on posting my layouts, so here are a few more I'd like to share! All layouts have been made using Just Cre8 kits!

Thought I would play catch up and post a few of my favorite layouts that I have done recently...

I recently went and saw the movie "The bucket list" and it got the wheels a turning in my head so I decided I would make my own bucket list, which is basically I list of things I would like to do before I die. This was made using the 4SS Jan kit. I apologize for the bad picture taking of this one, makes it hard to see all the little details, but you get the idea!

Next up is a layout using the Just Cre8 Feb kit, this was such a fun kit to play with, the colours are so bright and FUN!!

My Scrapbook Room

What a weekend! I spent most of it reorganizing my room and with hubby's help got some stuff hung up. It was amazing to see how much stuff I really do have, and stuff that I totally forgot I even had because it got shoved somewhere I never would have thought to look for it. Everything has a place now and I'm really happy with how the room is coming together and wanted to share!

Welcome to my space...

This is my desk, which hubby built for me for mother's day a few years back now and I love it! The little glass jars I picked up at the dollar store for $1 each, I store my ribbon (by colour), buttons and some flowers in theses, the picture frame I picked up there as well for around $7. In the two rolling carts I store inks pads, chipborrd, grungeboard, letter stickers, flowers, stamps and other embellies etc!

This is a close up of the skribblz which I actually won during the last online crop over at Just Cre8, I totally LOVE the saying, LOVE how it looks, and these things are so easy to put up, went on like butter! You can find more info on these at skribblzart.com

Corner of my desk, I store some paper under and beside my desk as well, although most of my paper is stored in the closet. On top of my desk is storeage for more embellies, a few of my fav idea books, brads and things, paints, my Just Cre8 stamps, etc...

I even got really crazy and organized all my brads etc into colours

I got these cute Melissa Frances wall racks at the LSS for about $15 each, and of course my cricut!

This is the other corner of the room, it's more storage and a place to hang up some of my recent or fav layouts! The wall cubbie is where I store all of my magazines, and yes just a few dvds also.

Inside this big storage thing on the top is some of my stamps, second is tools, punches, and odds&ends, on the third is templates, glitter, embossing powders, QK, Fastenator and some misc. embellies, and on the bottom is some of my albums!

I picked up these little baskets again at the dollar store for $1 each, I love that everything is now labeled and has it's own "home"

Hubby hung up this cork board for me, and I thought it would be kinda cool to hang up some of my fav/recent layouts to display

Holy Mini Albums Batman!

It seems like that's all I've been working on lately, but I find mini albums to be quick to make and super FUN! I made these 2 Maya Road purse albums for my cousins who recently both just had babies born 19 hours apart!

Next up is the Crown mini album by Maya Road, this was so super FUN, and I really like how it turned out...for the skull I used Tim Holtz Grungeboard, painted it then add some glitter! Fun stuff!!

And finally we have this Bird mini album, also Maya Road, and I LOVE this one, it's my Favorite I think, I'm really happy with how this came together, The bird shape is one of my fav's at the moment, and I had way to much fun using stickles!

I am so super excitied about all the new goodies being released at CHA right now, can't wait to get my hands on alot stuff and play, play, play!!! I see some shopping in my future!!

Cricut!

So I finally broke down a few weeks ago and bought one of these....

I have always thought the cricut was so cool, but wondered if I would ever use it enough because one of my best friends is of course my x-acto knife, I figured the cricut would take all the fun out cutting for me......boy was I WRONG!!! The cricut is so RAD, I love that I can have any word, number, or shape cut out for me. I love that their are so many different fonts you can buy. I still use my trusted old x-acto knife for more detailed cutting, but the cricit has sure given my fingers a must needed break! I have used it so much in the last 2 weeks, it's so cool!

Here is a layout I made, using the cricut to cut out the title! Again with the AC papers!

Where has the time gone?

I haven't updated in what seems like forever, Has me wondering where does the time go? Keeping with that theme I created this layout about my daugther...

I got to spend some time with some family over Christmas that I haven't seen in quite some time, it was so nice to just sit back and enjoy the time I spent with them

I really enjoyed working with the AC papers, I just love the colours and such fun designs!

Sadly my time on the DT over at 4 scrappy sisters has come to an end, I would so love to thank the sisters for having me, it was a pleasure to be apart of the first DT, can't wait to see what the new DT comes up with!!!

My first published layout came out in the Winter 2007/2008 issue of the Canadian Scrapbooker magazine, page 33 looks pretty darn cool! haha

I got my DT kit from 4 Scrappy Sisters earlier this month, and got right to work with it, and I must say I love what I did with the kit, and I am very happy with how the whole thing turned out! I loved working with the christmas papers, it such a great kit, you can check it out here

Ok so Just Cre8 is hosting an online crop this weekend, I was alittle late joining but none the less I have gotten a few of the challenges done today! It's alot of fun, and boy oh boy are they offering some really cool prizes!!

New Goodies!

There is something about buying new goodies that always gets the mojo going and makes me want to scrap right now! I dropped by the LSS yesterday and picked up a few things... I am such a sucker for idea books, I love them, I love flipping through them all the time, they are a huge source of inspiration for me so when I saw this book by Autumn Leaves I couldn't help myself!

This is book is AWESOME, it's filled with alot of great ideas, can't wait to scraplift of few of them! haha

And I have been waiting to try these......I simply LOVE Fancy Pants and these felt shapes look like so much fun to play with, I can't wait to get my hands on the other ones!

I picked up a few other little things as well...mostly chipboard alphabets and whatnot, and now I can't wait to get scrapping this weekend! Later!!!

Well I have been so busy I haven't had time to do any scrapping really, I have 1 unfinished layout sitting on my desk, hopefully I will get to that soon. My cousin asked if I would make some thank-you cards for her, so today I put together a bunch of these cute quick and easy cards......I don't make cards very often and now remember why ! haha

Spent some time last night re-organizing my scraproom, so can't wait till it's all done, I can fully enjoy the room! Waiting on hubby's help to hang up a shelf that I picked up at IKEA, then I think it's pretty darn close to being done! YAY!!
